Sopa da Pedra - Herman José

2023

Our second collaboration with the legendary comedian, actor, and television host, Herman José.As with our first project together, we had complete creative freedom.
The only guideline was to take artistic inspiration from Auto-Mutilação, one of our own short films, a challenge we were eager to explore.

69,000 Calorie CAKE MUKBANG ASMR!!!

2022

This video is one of our personal favorites, created for our side project and YouTube channel, Mish.Mi.We love the character design, the animation, and the beautifully painted cakes by Erica Laranjo.
But for us, the real star of the show is the perfect mix of grotesque, macabre humor and the charm of innocent, adorable characters like our unsuspecting little worm.

Maçarico - Herman José

2022

Our first collaboration with the legendary Herman José, renowned Portuguese comedian, singer, and broadcaster. This playful song tells the tale of a mischievous dog who adores music but simply can’t stand his owners’ singing. With full creative freedom and a tight deadline, we took on the challenge of animating the entire music video frame by frame, hand-painting every single one. We also wanted to infuse it with a distinctly Portuguese aesthetic, capturing a traditional feel in the visuals. It took countless long days to complete, but we believe it’s one of our finest works.

Poopgulls

2021

The first video we produced for our YouTube channel, Mish.Mi.This video follows a seagull with surprisingly good manners and impeccable beach etiquette. The idea came from a winter beach visit, where we quickly realized there wasn’t a single clean spot to sit, thanks to scattered trash and, well, generous seagull droppings.

Emmanuel Willis Road to Glory

2018

A short film about boxing.Inspired by Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull, we wanted to capture the raw intensity of the ring. To do this, we framed the action from behind the ropes, like a documentary crew struggling to keep up with the fight using a handheld camera in the 1960s.Back then, smoke filled the arenas, blurring the lines between the fighters and the crowd. To recreate that atmosphere, we layered textures, grain, and haze, giving the film a gritty, timeworn feel.Every frame was hand-drawn in pen and painted with acrylics.

El Coloso

2014

El Coloso is a hand-painted short film inspired by Francisco de Goya’s artwork El Coloso. While the original painting depicts the figure as a menacing presence, we have always perceived a sense of calm and tranquility emanating from the giant. With limited time, we condensed our original story into a simple glimpse, a day in the Coloso’s life. The film was entirely painted and animated on paper.
